Overview
Strap into the cockpit of the Boeing-Sikorsky RAH-66 Comanche, an advanced stealth attack helicopter. You are tasked with executing highly dangerous, classified missions across the globe, from deeply entrenched enemy bases in the desert to heavily fortified snowy mountain ranges.
The game leans away from hardcore, realistic simulation physics in favor of accessible, explosive arcade action. You must manage your altitude and radar while painting targets with Hellfire missiles, unleashing unguided hydra rockets, and tearing through enemy armor with your chin-mounted cannon.

Behind The Scenes
The Voxel Space Engine
In 1992, most flight simulators used flat, untextured polygons to represent the ground. NovaLogic completely bypassed polygons by inventing the "Voxel Space" engine. Using "volume pixels" (voxels), they were able to render incredibly lush, rolling 3D terrains, jagged canyons, and detailed valleys that looked photorealistic.
A System Melter
Because processing Voxels required immense CPU power, Comanche became the ultimate benchmark game for the new Intel 486 processor. If you wanted to show your friends why you spent $2,000 on a new PC rig, you booted up this game, hugged the deck, and flew low through a jagged canyon.
